|EasiYo is rich in Protein|
Protein is the building material of the body and every tissue, whether muscle, skin, blood or nerve, contains it. The presence of additional milk solids in EasiYo Yoghurt makes it a more concentrated source of protein than milk. Plus it has greater absorption through the action of lactic cultures.
EasiYo is a great source of Calcium
EasiYo is also a source of calcium. Each cup (250gms) of EasiYo Yoghurt delivers 30% or more of the recommended daily requirement for nutritional calcium. (RDA is based on 800mg Calcium). Calcium is essential for building strong bones in growing children and maintaining bone health in adults. Osteoporosis is a serious health problem, especially for women, and studies have shown that most people consume far less calcium than the daily recommended levels.
|Helps with the Synthesis of Vitamins|
The lactic cultures in EasiYo Yoghurt have the property of being able to produce certain complex B vitamins (thiamine, riboflavin and niacin). They also produce folic acid, which is essential for the nervous systems development. Vitamins are nutrients required only in small amounts, but are essential for growth and maintaining normal function of the body. Yoghurt provides several B-vitamins such as Riboflavin and Thiamin.
Lactose intolerance occurs when an individual lacks the enzyme lactase, which breaks down the lactose into simple sugars. Our EasiYo Yoghurts typically contain around 3% lactose in the final product. This is slightly less than cows milk (4.6%). Some of the lactose is broken down into lactic acid during fermentation. However, it is thought that Yoghurt is particularly special because the Yoghurt cultures contain enzymes that are released in the intestine that can break down the lactose. This is why Yoghurt with even comparable lactose content to standard milk may be suitable for mildly lactose intolerant people.
Riboflavin, also known as Vitamin B2, is important in energy metabolism by aiding energy release from fat, carbohydrate and protein. It is also involved in red blood cell formation, cell respiration, antibody production and growth regulation.
Thiamin (vitamin B1) helps the conversion of carbohydrate to energy, and plays a key role in supporting the nervous system, as well as cardiovascular and muscular functions. Both of these are water soluble vitamins; they are excreted in urine so need to be replenished regularly.
Vitamin A and E
Full fat Yoghurt also contains reasonable amounts of Vitamin A and E, fat soluble vitamins. They are important for eye health, maintaining various functions of the body and having antioxidant properties.
Full of good culture
To gain the full health benefits of Yoghurt, the cultures in it need to be LIVE. But as these cultures last just days, freshly-made Yoghurt is the only real way of ensuring you receive optimum benefits as well as a great taste. Culture, its all about cultures. Not the geographic kind of culture, or the Rodeo Drive shopping or Coffee kinds of culture. Were talking Lactic cultures such as L. bulgaricus and S. thermophilus. These cultures are responsible for milks coagulation in Yoghurt production, and they also help give Yoghurt its flavour and aroma. They manufacture large amounts of B vitamins and lactic acid, which are useful against unfriendly bacteria. Thats because bad bacteria do not develop in an acidic environment.
Yoghurt cultures are natural for humans
Probiotic Lactic Cultures (probio = beneficial to life), such as L. Acidophilus and Bifidobacterium are natural inhabitants of the human intestine, where they perform such important functions as: occupying the surface area of the intestine, absorbing nutrients, secreting lactic acids, secreting anti-microbial compounds (natural antibiotics), and easing the passage of waste.
Made in New Zealand
Most people will have heard of clean, green New Zealand. What most people don't know, is that even in New Zealand there are 'clean, green' areas, and there are 'CLEAN, GREEN' areas of the country. You see, all EasiYo products are made using the finest premium milk powder derived from free-range cows grazing the most pristine and fertile pastures on the West Coast of New Zealand's South Island. This area is known locally as 'Godzone', because of its untouched beauty and perfect farming climate. We are very proud of this region, and it's a primary reason our milk powder is so special.
